NEWSFLASH NUMBER 2 (BLACK DEATH).
Tony and Lensie's television documentary, Black Death — Pneumonic Plague at Maryborough, Queensland, has now been remade and re-released on DVD. Maintaining all the original interviews which were recorded in 1986, and the original narration, the program is, however, entirely new with lots of new video material (almost all of it actually). You can find full details under the 'More' tag above. The good news is that the DVD has been remade and preserved as a community service and is being provided free to the people who were in the original cast, and also to the interviewees. Because there is such interest in this tragic event, copies of the program have also been donated to the Fraser Coast Libraries so that everyone can view the program free of charge. The library copies should be on their shelves very soon. Thanks everyone who assisted with this production. Anyone wanting copies of the DVD can contact Tony through the 'Contact' tag above where there is also a phone number. (If you email, please also provide your phone number).
NEWSFLASH NUMBER 3
The really great news is that Tony's novel, Harvest the Bones, has recently received a five star review. Here it is:
(Reviewed 2 August, 2013 at smashwords.com)
'An exceptionally well written book with a well thought out plot. Truly a shocking war book with a history that has been forgotten when you narrow it down to ordinary people. Thank you Tony Matthews for gifting us with a book of such merit.'
(Now that's what authors like to read!!!)
